In Cobrief, you can easily log in with your Google or Microsoft account. Sometimes, however, you might want to use a combination of email and password instead.
This guide helps you with two different scenarios:
You want to be able to log in with a password (instead of just Google/Microsoft).
You want to change to a completely new email address for login.
How to add login with email and password to your Google/Microsoft account
Do you usually use the Google or Microsoft button to log in, but also want the option to use a password?
The solution is to "merge" your existing Google/Microsoft login with a new password login. Here is a step-by-step guide on how to do it.
Log out: Start by logging completely out of your Cobrief account.
Create a new account: Go back to the login page. Instead of logging in, click "Register" (See screenshot).
Use the same email: Fill in the exact same email address that you usually use with Google/Microsoft, and choose a password.
Verify the email: You will receive an email from us to confirm the address. Click the link in it.
Merge the accounts: Cobrief will see that this email address is already linked to a Google/Microsoft account. You will be shown a page to merge these.
Confirm ownership: Follow the instructions on the page. You must confirm that you are the owner by clicking the button to log in with your Google/Microsoft account one last time.
The accounts are now merged. From now on, you can choose whether to click the Google/Microsoft button or enter your email and password to log in.
I want to change to a completely different email address
If your goal, however, is to change the email address you use with Cobrief (for example, from privat@gmail.com or jobb@firma.no), the process is different.
Log in to Cobrief with your old account.
Go to "Settings" in the menu, and select "Manage users".
Invite your new email address as a new user.
Log out of the old account.
Check the inbox for the new email. You should have received an invitation. Click the link and follow the steps to create the new account.
If you now want to remove the old user, you can log in with the new account, go to "Manage users," and delete the original user from there.
